Mantle Piece

These are pictures of a model of the
Vega I made from a model of the USS Burleigh. Actually, I have made a
couple models of the Vega from other model ships. This one I put the
helo deck on since it was added while I was on the ship.
The Burleigh was PA 95. I used the
95 to make 59 and cut the P to make an F. I had to use other parts from other
models to make more booms. The Vega had more holds than the Burleigh so I had
to improvise. Unfortunately, the Burleigh is not available to buy. You can
buy the Hawiian Pilot model on line from various distributors of model ships. The Hawiian Pilot is the same as the Burleigh except for the naval equipment.
The scale is 400:1. The model makes a great mantle display and
discussion piece. Steve Lash
